Kanye West's mom (Dr. Donde West) died suddenly on November
11, 2007 in Los Angeles. She was a very dear friend to her
son, and many others. At the time of her death, she had just
authored a new book entiled Raising Kanye and was
managing her son's company and foundation. She once served
as the head of the English department at Chicago State University.
