For
those of you who thought Senator Clinton would not use
her most valuable resource in her Presidential campaigning
efforts, you are sadly mistaken. The so-called political
experts would have you believe that she must be very
careful not to over use her husband. They say bringing
him too close might overshadow her identity. They are
mistaken. He is her most valuable political advisor,
supporter, and confidante. Besides, she has clearly
created her own identity.
Senator
Clinton’s campaign did not expect to face the
phenomenon that is Senator Obama, and thus forced them
to bring out President Clinton sooner than they anticipated.
The real question is will she and her husband decide
to bring back the core group of folks who helped President
Clinton become a two-term president. Not replacing the
team she has assembled, but adding fuel to ignite their
efforts.
The
road to the nomination for Senator Clinton seemed clear
and easy at one point. Now she is in a fight that will
prepare her, Senator Obama, and any of the Democratic
nominees for the tough battle they will face from the
Republicans in the fall of 2008.
I’m
willing to bet that this time President Clinton will
play a big role in helping to elect a Democratic Presidential
candidate, regardless of the nominee. Despite what some
may think of President Clinton personally or his policies
you must admit that he is one of the most politically
gifted individuals this country has ever produced.
The
next Democratic nominee, whomever they are, cannot afford
not to reach out to him or ask for his political counsel
and advice.
Welcome
Back, President Clinton.
