Plainfield, NJ — Tiray Summers, a 38-year old man from Plainfield, New Jersey, has been arrested for charges including the first-degree murder in connection with the death of his 3-week-old son. According to ABC 11 Eyewitness News, he literally beat his child brutally to death.
Union County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force detectives working with Plainfield Police Division carried out their investigation. According to the officials, the results revealed the baby suffered significant injuries and the cause of his death was blunt force trauma to the head.
Summers was arrested on July 28 and charged with the death of his son, Trayvon Summers, according to Union County Prosecutor Michael A. Monahan.
Summers was charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He is currently being held at the Union County Jail awaiting pretrial detention hearing.
