Miami, FL — Mariah Michelle Logan, a 23-year old woman from Chicago, was tragically killed after being run over by a car in Miami Beach. Logan, whose last words were “Bye Miami,” was traveling to the airport to return home from her three-day vacation with her friends when the accident happened.
They were reportedly just a few minutes away from the Miami International Airport to catch their flight home to Illinois when Logan became playful. Her friends said she was “hanging out” the window and yelling “Bye Miami” as their car switched lanes. Somehow, Logan fell out of the car window and was killed by a passing Range Rover.
The driver of the Range Rover, who has yet to be identified, apparently stopped briefly before fleeing the scene. The hit-and-run incident is now being investigated as a homicide, police said.
“She was just being silly,” Logan’s boyfriend, Ray Olden, told the Miami Herald. “She loved life.”
Lt. Alejandro Camacho, a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol, stated in a press release that drug and alcohol tests were administered to Frazier, who was driving the Hyundai. That and the information from the interviewed witnesses “won’t be available for at least 90 days” while the investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, Logan’s family was beyond devastated over her sudden tragic death. Logan, who has worked as a mental health technician, was described by her loved ones as an “angel.”
