Heights Girl

Cleveland, OH -– The drama heats up as HWIC Filmworks, a Cleveland-based urban film and video production company, just released the shocking fifth episode of the first season of its new dramatic YouTube series, “Heights Girl.” The series showcases a predominantly African-American cast and a music soundtrack from rap and R&B artists throughout Cleveland.

The ensemble YouTube series tracks a twenty-something African-American girl from the diverse suburb of Cleveland Heights and her boyfriend from the rough area of East Cleveland dealing with heartaches, triumphs, and dreams, as they struggle to maintain their relationship, livelihoods, and sanity. When their everyday trials become too much to deal with, drama ensues.

The latest episode concludes on a very serious note and addresses a very sensitive subject. John Delserone, CEO of HWIC FIlmworks and creator of the series, comments, “We’re not scared to tackle the tough subjects that a lot of production companies will shy away from. If our team feels the need to address something serious, you better believe we’ll address it head on, and won’t apologize for it either.”

In addition, Delserone announced that hip-hop legend and rock & roll hall of famer, Chuck D of Public Enemy, will be making an appearance in the next episode of the series and will continue on as a supporting member of the cast. HWIC Filmworks co-founder, David C. Snyder, has directed all of Public Enemy’s music videos since 2005.
