Bentonville, AR — Wal-Mart is recalling 174,000 My Sweet Love/My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care Baby dolls because they have a circuit board in the chest that could overheat and cause the surface of the doll to get hot, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
“My Sweet Baby” is printed on the front of the clear plastic and cardboard packaging. The doll is identified by UPC 6-04576-16800-5 and a date code which begins with WM. The date code is printed on the stuffed article label sewn into the bottom of the doll.
Wal-Mart received 12 reports related to the doll, including two reports that the doll caused burns or blisters to the user’s thumb, the commission said. Manufactured in China, the battery-operated dolls have been sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores from August 2012 through March 2014 for about $20.
Customers who bought the doll should remove the batteries, and return it to Wal-Mart for a full refund.
