Nationwide — In her new book Saved, Sanctified and Married to a Drug Dealer, author Jenine May transparently shares some of her darkest experiences while married to a notorious drug dealer. Released via her own publishing company, Kingdom Scribes Publishing, she says her book was written to encourage other women who feel trapped in abusive relationships.
Jenine seriously believes that the evil she experienced were weapons, designed to break her spirit, kill her destiny and frustrate her purpose. She comments, “Emotional abuse was his weapon of choice to force my submission. He had a way of breaking you all the way down with his words. The words he chose and how he strung them together, could cripple you in an instant. He had a way of making you feel like you were the most insignificant creature on the planet.”
In her book, she suggests that though these experiences can be far behind us, that doesn’t mean that we’re healed. “Trust me, time doesn’t heal all wounds, in fact, time doesn’t heal wounds at all, God does. I believe that not only does God want to heal and deliver us but He wants to give us the best possible end.”
Jenine further discloses that though there are reasons why people can be abusive, a reason is not an excuse! “There was nothing about what John did to me that was excusable no matter what his reasons were.” Ms. May hopes that people will find the courage to get involved and not stand idly by when they know someone is being abused. “I screamed for help in a house full of people and no one came to my rescue.”
