Nationwide — Robert W. Sessoms, M.D., has released a new 32-page paperback STEM book for children of color entitled Uncle Julius and the Science Gang. He says that he wrote the book because only 6% of all medical students are African Americans and he wants to encourage more children of color to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math).
Who better to ask than their storytelling Uncle Julius who always seems to have an answer for everything in a very understanding way? Uncle Julius offers solid advice using his personal experiences to make just about any subject relatable.
Imagination is Everything is a reminder that sometimes children just need someone to talk to and a great way to start conversations about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) topics.
Subjects addressed in the book include:
• How do fish breathe underwater?
• How do airplanes fly?
• What is wrong with junk food?
The book is available for purchase on UncleJulius.com and Amazon
