Nationwide — Tina Knowles, who is 70 years old, and Richard Lawson, who is 77 years old, are officially divorced after a year of separation. As part of their settlement, Tina must pay Richard a one-time payment of $300,000. Neither will receive spousal support from the other.
According to WBLS, court documents reveal that Tina and Richard’s settlement agreement resolves all remaining issues. The couple acknowledged “irreconcilable differences” led to the breakdown of their marriage.
In the settlement, Tina will keep a 2018 Tesla, a 2020 Bentley, her book deal with Penguin Random House, a 1% stake in Kirby Beauty Management LLC, as well as furniture, artwork, and all creative work produced during their marriage.
Richard’s share includes a 2021 Cadillac Escalade, various bank and retirement accounts, money owed to Richard Lawson Studios, earned royalties, and all his creative works from the marriage. Richard was responsible for paying off the Cadillac.
Both Tina and Richard must sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that prevents them from speaking negatively about each other or their family members. This agreement aims to keep details about their children, including Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z, private.
“With respect to the mutual desire to protect the privacy rights of any and all present or future grandchildren of either party, the parties agree that they will not, when asked by any media or person, discuss said grandchildren or future grandchildren whether verbally or in writing,” Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson’s agreement reportedly reads.
