Nationwide — Regina Renaye, an award-winning mental health advocate and the host of the Strong Black Woman Support Group podcast, is proud to announce the 5th Annual Strong Black Woman Redefined Conference, themed “Relax, Relate, Release.” This transformative event will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 8am to 4pm at the Hilton Boston/Dedham. This year’s conference continues to challenge the cultural expectations placed on Black women, advocating for the prioritization of mental health, self-care, and authentic living. The Strong Black Woman Redefined Conference is not just an event; it’s a movement committed to dismantling the toxic narrative that Black women must constantly be strong at the expense of their well-being. This year’s theme, “Relax, Relate, Release,” speaks directly to the need for Black women to give themselves permission to rest, to connect deeply with themselves and others, and to let go of the burdens that do not serve them.
“This conference is about creating a space where Black women can unapologetically prioritize their mental health and well-being,” said Regina. “We’ve been conditioned to believe that our strength lies in our ability to endure, but true strength comes from knowing when to relax, relate, and release.”
Keynote Panel Discussion & Workshops
A highlight of this year’s conference will be the keynote panel discussion titled “Nurturing Ourselves and Our Mental Health – The Importance of Boundaries, Self-Care, and Respite.” This dynamic discussion will feature Katrina Huff-Larmond, Councilor for the Town of Randolph, MA, and other leading voices in mental health and wellness. The panel will explore how setting boundaries, practicing self-care, and taking time for respite are essential to the mental and emotional well-being of Black women.
The conference will also include a series of empowering sessions and workshops led by influential thought leaders and mental health advocates. These sessions are designed to provide actionable strategies for Black women to prioritize their mental health and wellness, navigate societal pressures, and redefine their own narratives.
