Atlanta, GA — Shazzy Fitness, a faith-based startup that produces bold Christian hip-hop dance fitness DVDs, teams up with the Rebecca Davis Dance Company (RDDC) to host free dance classes commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide and celebrating the progress and future of Rwanda.

Shazzy Fitness is set to participate in the global dance experience, “Kurema: Moving at the Speed of Peace”, a RDDC event, hosting free dance classes on April, 26 2014 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide. RDDC will offer dance classes around the world in as many styles as possible to not only raise awareness of the lives lost in the Rwandan genocide, but also as an illuminating look at the power of dance as a means of healing, educating and growing.

In support of this global dance event, Shazzy Fitness will offer two separate classes featuring dances from their newly released Christian hip-hop dance fitness workout DVDs, “Shazzy Fitness: In the Beginning” and “Shazzy Fitness: A Time to Dance”. On Saturday April 26, the beginner-level hip-hop dance class will be led by the star of the “In the Beginning” DVD, Shazzy Fitness lead choreographer and instructor, Vera Musgrove. The second class will have more of a cardio hip-hop focus and will be led by the award-winning choreographer/director/stage performer and Shazzy Fitness dance team veteran, D. Norris.

The Shazzy Fitness dance classes will begin at 5pm EST and at 6pm EST respectively. Both classes will last approximately one hour and feature family-friendly dance moves choreographed to Christian hip-hop beats.

All Shazzy Fitness dance classes will take place at the Academy of the Arts dance studio, located at 4650 Memorial Drive in Decatur a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this extraordinary commemorative event,” said Shazzy Fitness CEO, Kristy McCarley. “It is a great honor to collaborate with a dance company like RDDC for such a worthy cause that reflects our core mission to share love, joy and peace through dance.”

Shazzy Fitness/Kurema dance classes will only be held in the Atlanta area on April 26, however various other Kurema supporting dance classes will take place nationwide in Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Guinea, and Rwanda – among other locations.

All classes are free and open to the public. For more information about Shazzy Fitness events or Christian hip-hop dance fitness DVDs, please email pr@shazzyfitness.com or call 404-997-3397
