Nationwide — Kristopher BoClair, an African American man from Jackson, Mississippi, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for stabbing his father, Kenneth BoClair, who was paralyzed and bedridden.
When officers arrived, they found Kenneth, 58, lying dead in his bed with multiple stab wounds. Knives were still lodged in his neck and eye. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kristopher later turned himself in at the Byram Police Department. Following his confession, he was taken into custody. The incident shocked the community, as Kenneth was paralyzed and unable to defend himself.
In court, Kristopher was sentenced to 40 years in prison, with 15 years suspended. He will serve 25 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, followed by three years of post-release supervision.
