Nationwide — Recent University of Cincinnati graduate Tierre Hummons is rewriting the rules of animation and storytelling with Synth City — the first-ever animated series centered on the life of music producers, created on an indie budget using his own original music and innovative production tools.
While artists often take the spotlight, Synth City shines it on the creative minds behind the sound — the producers who shape the music that defines generations. Their stories are rarely told, yet their struggles, dreams, and grind mirror the same passion that drives every great artist. Synth City gives these unseen creators their moment, capturing the highs and lows of chasing success in a world that often overlooks them.
At its heart, Synth City follows Caden, a young college producer navigating grief, ambition, and survival. Determined to chase his dream, Caden becomes entangled in the darker side of the music world — where quick money comes with heavy consequences. Through emotional storytelling and cinematic tone, the series explores the duality of the come-up: the beats, the hustle, and the personal toll of wanting more.
What began as an idea in a dorm room has evolved into a full-scale creative movement. With no studio funding, Hummons merged his filmmaking, writing, and production skills to build an entire animated world from scratch. Using limited resources and sheer determination, he created a project that visually and emotionally rivals shows with million-dollar budgets — proving that creativity can outshine circumstance.
As a rising music producer, Hummons has also begun making waves in the music industry — recently collaborating with Diamond from Crime Mob, known for the Southern hip-hop classic “Knuck If You Buck.” The partnership underscores his growing credibility as a multifaceted creative bridging the worlds of music and film.
Since its trailer debut, Synth City has captured attention across social media, resonating with fans and creators who see themselves in Caden’s journey. The project has already drawn early interest from professionals in film, music, and streaming who see Synth City as the next breakthrough independent series born from authenticity, innovation, and heart.
“With Synth City, I wanted to show what’s possible when you stop waiting for opportunity and just build it yourself,” says Hummons. “This series is proof that with creativity, resourcefulness, and a vision — you can make something powerful, even when you’re broke.”
