Nationwide — Kiara Bryant, a 35-year-old woman from Miami, was arrested after punching a Planet Fitness employee in the face when he asked her to lower her voice. The confrontation sparked chaos inside and outside the gym before she tried to drive away.
The incident took place on December 12 at the Planet Fitness on Southwest 8th Street. According to NBC Miami, witnesses said Bryant became loud and aggressive in the locker room after the staffer warned her to stop being disorderly.
When the employee pushed her back in self-defense, Bryant reportedly charged at him behind the staff counter. She jumped over the counter and repeatedly struck him in the nose before leaving the gym.
Bryant tried to flee in her car, but bystanders stopped her. Police said she admitted to becoming aggressive after being told not to cause a disturbance.
Authorities arrested her without further incident. She faces misdemeanor charges for battery and disorderly conduct, with bond set at $150. Planet Fitness confirmed it canceled her membership and emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for violence.
The employee’s attorney said the victim suffered serious harm and that the firm is pursuing all available legal avenues to ensure accountability.
