Barack Obama shared a smiling photo of the couple on Instagram to honor his wife. In the caption, he wrote, “Happy birthday to the woman who lights up every room she walks into. I love you, Miche.” The post quickly drew attention as supporters joined in celebrating her day.
Michelle Obama’s birthday also comes shortly after the release of her latest book, The Look. The project focuses on the fashion choices she made as first lady and the deeper meaning behind those decisions.
She recently discussed the book with Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts, explaining how her style was always intentional. “I really thought about what I wanted to say with my fashion,” she said. “I wanted to, you know, talk about inclusion, diversity, opening up opportunities and fashion was one of those tools that allowed me to do that.”
According to publisher The Crown Publishing Group, The Look includes more than 200 photographs, some of which have never been seen before. The book offers a visual and personal look at her time in the White House.
