Nationwide — Tamara Perez, 15, and her sister Iris Perez, 14, have been missing from their adoptive home in Prudenville, Michigan, since June 28, 2023. Authorities, including the FBI, continue efforts to locate the sisters nearly three years after their disappearance.
According to CNN, the sisters had moved with their adoptive parents from Florida to Michigan in early 2023. A day after they went missing, a white Jeep Cherokee was seen leaving the area where the sisters were last spotted, prompting investigators to follow up on the sighting.
Iris is known to have a star tattoo on the left side of her neck. Both sisters also have connections to Port St. Lucie and Lake Worth, Florida, as well as Winchester, Tennessee. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
The FBI’s Detroit Field Office joined the investigation alongside the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office. Community members and families note that missing Black children often face slower responses and less media attention compared with missing White children, highlighting broader disparities in missing person cases.
Authorities continue to urge the public to report any tips regarding Tamara and Iris Perez to local law enforcement or the FBI.
