1-Year-Old Black Boy Goes Viral for His Taekwondo Skills

Muhammad Sarr

Nationwide — Muhammad Sarr, a 1-year-old boy from Lansing, Michigan, has already discovered a love for taekwondo and is charming viewers online with his enthusiasm. Videos of him practicing tiny kicks have gone viral, capturing millions of hearts worldwide.

Muhammad’s father, Ousmane Sarr, runs Sarr Brothers Taekwondo and first noticed his son’s interest when he began copying older students.

“We noticed it when he began trying to imitate the kicks and movements he saw the older students practicing,” Ousmane tells People. “Even at a very young age, he was paying close attention and trying to follow along.”

In clips shared on TikTok, Muhammad can be seen wearing his own tiny uniform and sometimes a little blue helmet, practicing kicks while holding his bottle of orange juice. He moves along with the other students, clearly enjoying every moment on the mat.

Ousmane says bringing Muhammad to the studio helped him feel included. “He really enjoys being around the other students and watching them train. He especially likes practicing little kicks and moving around on the mat,” Ousmane says. The other children also find his presence both cute and inspiring.

Muhammad’s love for activity doesn’t stop at taekwondo. Ousmane says his son enjoys playing with soccer balls and exploring different ways to stay active.

The videos have racked up millions of views, some surpassing 18 million. Ousmane says, “It’s amazing to see how many people around the world have been inspired by Muhammad’s videos. We hope he continues to enjoy sports and learning as he grows.”
