Man Sentenced to Life for Murdering His Parents and Trying to Frame His Brother

Alpha Henry and his parents Colin Henry and Veronica Henry

Nationwide — Alpha Henry, a 32-year-old man from Toronto, Canada, who killed his parents in their apartment and tried to frame his brother for it, received a life sentence after police exposed his cover-up. He was convicted after investigators linked him to the attack and cleared his brother of any involvement.

Superior Court Justice Joan Barrett handed down the sentence on March 27. Henry received life imprisonment with no parole eligibility for 17 years. He also received a concurrent 14-year sentence for attempting to kill his brother, Daniel Henry.

According to People, police said the victims, Colin Henry, 68, and Veronica Henry, 67, were found stabbed multiple times inside their Rexdale apartment in Toronto in September 2022. Investigators also found evidence that their bodies had been doused with gasoline after the attack.

Officers responded to the apartment on Sept. 21, 2022, around 1:40 a.m. When they arrived, Alpha Henry was already at the scene. Inside, police later found the couple in a bathtub. Medical reports confirmed they died from stab wounds and blunt force injuries.

After the killings, Henry used his mother’s phone to contact his brother while Daniel was overseas. He asked about his return, cleaned the apartment, and took cash from the home. He later attempted to attack Daniel when he came back.

Daniel fought off the attack, managed to disarm him, and escaped safely. Henry then went to a nearby gas station and called 911, falsely claiming that Daniel had killed their parents and attacked him. Police quickly found inconsistencies in his story, ruled out Daniel, and confirmed he was never charged.

During sentencing, the court heard victim impact statements describing Colin and Veronica Henry as caring, generous, and deeply involved in their church community. Family and friends said their deaths left a lasting and permanent impact.
