Drake and his father Dennis Graham

Nationwide — Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, has drawn attention after Drake revealed details about his health in new music from his album Iceman. Dennis later confirmed he had lung cancer in the past but is now in remission and says he is doing well, even while continuing to smoke.

Drake released Iceman on May 15 along with two surprise albums, shifting attention toward his personal life and family, as reported by People. Listeners quickly reacted after hearing emotional references to his father’s condition in the project’s opening track.

On the song “Make Them Cry,” Drake directly addressed his father’s health. He rapped, “My dad got cancer right now, we battlin’ stages,” describing the emotional weight of the situation and his struggle to deal with it.

Following the album release, Dennis posted an Instagram photo with Drake showing the two embracing. He paired the image with a short caption celebrating their bond, while fans flooded the post with messages of support and well-wishes.

Dennis later clarified the situation, explaining that his lung cancer diagnosis was from the past and confirmed he is now in remission. He also thanked fans for their concern and said he appreciated the support.

He added that the cancer had “disappeared” and said he is currently living normally. He also noted that he remains active on social media and continues his everyday routine despite the earlier health scare.

Dennis Graham is also known for his long history in music. He worked as a drummer for his own band and also performed with Jerry Lee Lewis. In 2021, he released the track “Father and Son,” which reflected his relationship with Drake.

Beyond his father’s health, Drake also used Iceman to touch on broader personal struggles. He addressed aging, industry pressure, and criticism from fans while weaving in themes about family and resilience throughout the album.
