Nationwide — Malik Polk, a 25-year-old African American man from Coweta County, Georgia, has been reported missing after he was last seen on May 17. His car was later found abandoned in Carroll County, close to the area where he was driving.
According to WSB-TV, Polk’s family officially reported him missing to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office on May 19 after they had not heard from him for two days.
Investigators said Polk’s phone has been turned off since the time he disappeared. This has made it harder to track his movements after he was last seen.
Deputies also confirmed they found his vehicle abandoned in Carroll County, in the same general area where he was last seen driving. Authorities have not released further details about what may have happened.
As the search continues, Polk’s family and friends have started organizing their own search efforts. They have been checking nearby areas while staying in contact with law enforcement.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the case and follow up on leads. Officials are asking anyone with information on Malik Polk’s whereabouts to come forward.
