Dad Faces Murder Charges After Killing His 4-Year-Old Daughter to Get Revenge Against His Ex

Rashad Dixon, daughter Zuri

Nationwide — Rashad Dixon, a 34-year-old father from Atlanta, Georgia, faces murder charges after prosecutors allege he killed his 4-year-old daughter in a domestic violence case linked to a revenge against the child’s mother.

Fulton County prosecutors say Dixon has been indicted for the death of his daughter, Zuri Dixon. They also pointed to a separate Clayton County indictment from June 2025, which included aggravated assault charges tied to an earlier alleged incident involving the child’s mother.

According to WSB-TV, investigators reviewed a 911 call from the night of the killing, where Zuri’s mother can be heard screaming for help and telling Dixon to stop. The call suddenly ends after authorities say he interfered, leaving the phone unusable during the emergency.

District Attorney Fani Willis said prosecutors believe Dixon killed his daughter to inflict harm on the child’s mother. She said the state plans to pursue a life sentence, citing the seriousness of the charges and evidence gathered during the investigation.

Authorities said the indictment includes 12 counts in total, including murder, first-degree cruelty to children, and hindering an emergency telephone call. Investigators allege Dixon stabbed the phone during the 911 call to stop communication and later broke a vehicle window during the same incident.

Prosecutors also said Dixon sustained a minor self-inflicted neck injury after the attack. They believe he did this in an attempt to avoid facing consequences. He was later treated and released, according to investigators.

Officials said the case follows a reported history of abuse involving Zuri’s mother, Jazzuri Rouse. They described the incident as part of a broader pattern often seen in domestic violence situations where tensions escalate into deadly violence.

Fulton County domestic violence officials said the case reflects ongoing concerns about intimate partner violence. The Georgia Public Defender Council confirmed Dixon has legal representation and stated that he is entitled to due process as the Fulton and Clayton County cases proceed.
