Nationwide — Joi Rodrigue, a military veteran, wife, mother of three, entrepreneur, and community advocate, is proudly wearing the crown as the reigning Mrs. Black Globe International™. Born in the United Kingdom and raised in Washington State and British Columbia, Canada, she has built a life defined by education, military service, family, business, and advocacy. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington before embarking on an accomplished 22-year military career. Formerly Mrs. Black Globe Canada™, she now represents women around the world through Black Globe International Pageants®, an organization dedicated to recognizing and elevating accomplished Black women.
Her military accomplishments are extensive, including an assignment to Special Forces, earning a Combat Star, and becoming an award-winning parachutist. During her career, she completed an impressive 114 parachute jumps in the United States, Thailand, and Canada and also became an expert marksman and motorcycle instructor. Her commitment to service has continued beyond her military career, including helping deliver boxes of supplies to families affected by devastating flooding in Texas. Today, she balances her international title with family life, entrepreneurship, and community service, including co-owning Cajun Kick Paws Kennels with her husband.
One of Rodrigue’s most meaningful roles is serving as a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Military Child Advocate, a cause deeply connected to her own childhood. Growing up as a military child meant frequently being the new girl at school, having to make new friends while missing the ones she had left behind. Years later, she recognized those same emotions in a young girl at a school whose mother had been deployed with the Army. When she told the child that she had also served in the Army and had jumped out of airplanes, the little girl laughed — a simple interaction that reinforced Rodrigue’s belief that even a brief moment of encouragement can make a meaningful difference in a child’s life.
That experience is at the heart of Rodrigue’s community impact platform, which encourages adults to become involved in schools, nonprofit organizations, and their local communities. She believes people do not necessarily need significant resources to make a difference; sometimes donating time, offering encouragement, or simply sharing a kind word can positively affect someone’s day. As a PTA Military Child Advocate, she particularly promotes healthy and supportive learning environments for children navigating the challenges associated with having a parent in the military. Her combination of military service, motherhood, entrepreneurship, education, and advocacy reflects the type of multifaceted accomplished woman Black Globe International Pageants® seeks to celebrate.
For nearly two decades, Black Globe International Pageants® has provided an international platform for accomplished Black women, reaching across 10 countries and four continents. The organization has earned significant industry recognition, including three honors in one evening at the Black Pageant Awards™: the Digital Influence Award, Best Director of Elite Sized Pageants for Founder and CEO Dr. Stephvanie Wynn, and Best in Black Pageants. Beyond the crown, delegates receive development resources centered around health, wealth, relationships, and presentation, including the E.B.O.N.E.E. Financial System™, Media Majesty™, and Royal Speaking. These initiatives are designed to strengthen participants’ financial foundations, public-speaking abilities, media presence, and overall influence, with opportunities connected to major platforms and events such as Essence Fest, Caribbean Fest, and the NAACP Awards.
Rodrigue’s reign comes as Black Globe International Pageants® prepares to celebrate its milestone 20th Anniversary International Competition, featuring Miss, Ms., and Mrs. divisions. The landmark year will also bring back the Teen Division and introduce an additional new division, creating what the organization describes as its most expansive international stage to date. “You and your story deserve a stage. We crown Real Queens, making sure you feel beautiful and leave with the recognition you deserve. We look forward to crowning you,” said Dr. Wynn.
Women interested in participating can also access The Queen’s Blueprint: 5 Pillars Every Accomplished Black Woman Needs to Own Her Stage, a complimentary resource focused on visibility, voice, wealth, community, and legacy.
