1,000 Voices for Cancer Equity Campaign documents the experiences of cancer patients survivors and caregivers
Nationwide — Bikira Radcliffe, Founder and Chief Empowerment Officer at United Colors of Cancer (UCC), has announced that her organization’s 1,000 Voices for Cancer Equity™ Campaign reached its first major milestone: 100 completed survey responses. Launched earlier this year, the national campaign is collecting the experiences of cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers, with a particular focus on Black, Indigenous, Latino, Asian American, Pacific Islander, and other communities historically underrepresented in cancer research and healthcare data.
“Reaching 100 voices represents 100 people who trusted us with their experiences, challenges, and hopes for better cancer care,” said Bikira. “We are deeply grateful to every participant and partner who helped us reach this milestone. Now, we must build on this momentum because meaningful, representative data requires many more voices.”
The anonymous survey asks participants about access to care, financial hardship, emotional well-being, communication with healthcare providers, and whether they feel heard throughout the cancer experience. The survey takes approximately 8-10 minutes to complete and is open to adults from every racial and ethnic background who have experienced cancer as a patient, survivor, or caregiver.
The campaign’s goal is to collect 1,000 voices by December 31, 2026, and transform those lived experiences into data that can guide culturally responsive support programs, stronger patient-navigation tools, future research, and practical solutions for reducing inequities in cancer care.

United Colors of Cancer is asking cancer organizations, hospitals, healthcare professionals, churches, community groups, advocacy networks, and individuals to help reach the next milestone by sharing the campaign directly with eligible participants. “Cancer equity cannot be built from incomplete data,” Radcliffe added. “Every response helps reveal where people are being supported, where they are being overlooked, and what must change. We need every community represented.”
The survey will remain open through December 31, 2026.
