Through the BLEND Leadership Development Program and the new annual “An Evening with Dr. Bentil,” the healthcare executive is equipping nurses to lead with confidence, vision, and measurable impact.
Nationwide — As healthcare systems worldwide confront workforce pressures, rapid technological change, and increasingly complex patient needs, Dr. Stacy Bentil, DNP, MSN, RN, is working to ensure nurses are prepared not only to provide exceptional care, but also to lead the organizations and systems responsible for delivering it. Through Bentil Healthcare Consulting, she provides leadership development, mentorship, coaching, and practical education for current and aspiring nurse leaders.
Central to this work is the BLEND Leadership Development Program, a self-paced program designed to help healthcare professionals develop essential leadership skills, strengthen their confidence, and apply what they learn immediately in the workplace. “Nurses already lead every day, at the bedside, within interdisciplinary teams, and throughout their communities,” she says. “Our responsibility is to help them recognize that leadership capacity, develop it intentionally, and use it to create lasting improvements for patients, colleagues, and healthcare organizations.”
The BLEND program responds to a persistent challenge in healthcare: nurses are frequently promoted into management and executive positions because of their clinical excellence, but may not receive the structured leadership preparation needed to succeed in those roles. BLEND helps close that gap by providing flexible, practical development that can support nurses at different stages of their careers and in diverse healthcare environments. Its self-paced format also supports Dr. Bentil’s broader vision of making meaningful leadership education accessible to healthcare professionals beyond geographic boundaries. Participants can develop skills on schedules that accommodate the realities of nursing, including demanding shifts, family responsibilities, and evolving professional commitments.
BLEND is complemented by Bentil Healthcare Consulting’s individual coaching, group mentorship, workshops, and professional community. Together, these offerings give nurses access to personalized guidance, peer relationships, and actionable strategies for communication, conflict resolution, team leadership, career advancement, and organizational improvement.
An Inaugural Evening Dedicated to Visionary Leadership
Dr. Bentil expanded that mission in 2026 with the inaugural An Evening with Dr. Bentil, held July 25 at the Cambria Hotel in South Windsor, Connecticut. Centered on the theme “Moving Healthcare Forward Through Visionary Leadership,” the event brought together nurse leaders, healthcare executives, clinicians, educators, entrepreneurs, innovators, and community advocates for an evening of learning, recognition, and relationship-building. The program featured executive and nursing leadership panels, conversations about innovation and organizational transformation, and a keynote address focused on the importance of mentorship and sponsorship. It also recognized leaders whose service and influence are strengthening healthcare and their communities.
More than a professional networking event, An Evening with Dr. Bentil was created as a space where leaders from different areas of healthcare could exchange ideas, build authentic relationships, and explore collaborative solutions to the industry’s most pressing challenges. “Healthcare transformation cannot happen in silos,” she says. “We need spaces where established and emerging leaders can connect, challenge one another, share knowledge, and open doors for the people coming behind them. An Evening with Dr. Bentil is an extension of that belief.” Following the success of its inaugural gathering, Dr. Bentil plans to host the event annually, creating an enduring forum for leadership development, collaboration, mentorship, and recognition. The annual event will strengthen the community surrounding BLEND and Dr. Bentil’s other leadership initiatives while helping connect nurses with professionals capable of supporting their advancement.
Preparing Nurses to Shape Healthcare’s Future
Dr. Bentil began her nursing journey at age 15 as a nursing assistant and earned her RN license in 2005. She later earned a master’s degree in Nursing Administration and a doctorate in Nursing Leadership. Her career has included senior positions such as Director of Nursing Services and Director of Clinical Operations, where she led work involving patient outcomes, clinical operations, team performance, and regulatory compliance. Drawing on that experience, she is helping nurses move beyond simply holding leadership titles to developing the confidence, judgment, executive presence, and practical skills required to lead effectively.
Her long-term vision is global: to cultivate a connected community of nurse leaders prepared to influence healthcare delivery, organizational culture, policy, innovation, and patient outcomes wherever they serve. “When nurses are equipped to lead, the impact extends far beyond one person’s career,” Dr. Bentil says. “Stronger nurse leaders build stronger teams, stronger organizations, and ultimately stronger healthcare systems.”
