Washington, DC — Got My Own Sound is thrilled to announce the release of their latest studio album, Welcome to My World, available everywhere. GMOS teamed up with DMV artists such as music video director and R&B artist, Chris Scholar, producer, David James, and Hip Hop artist, Cane, on this offering to deliver a captivating, fresh, and innovative album for 2018 and beyond.

Traditionally, music is categorized in very clear and concise silos. A song’s rhythms, lyrics, and instrumentation are dictated to be a particular genre based on certain parameters. Knowing what we know about musicians and their talent and training, we know that they the sky is hardly the limit to their range. There is no need to remain in one lane; Got My Own Sound refuses to. These sample tracks are clear evidence (www.gmosww.com).

These millennials combine the fresh approach of their generation with the soulful music of generations past. Their sound may be recognized from their turns as a touring band for Carolyn Malachi, providing musical direction for The Walker Red’s Project, Raheem Devaughn, Suttle, and percussion for the legendary Fabulous Thunderbirds. They’re ready to share their story and empower musicians following their path to be true to themselves and their sound.

“I’ve been blessed with opportunities to play with musicians and bands of nearly every musical genre. These experiences have allowed me freedom in growing my skills so we decided to hold on to that liberty in our music,” says Wes Watkins, founder.

Following a sold out performance in late 2017, Got My Own Sound was invited back to host their exclusive album release event featuring exhilarating live performances with special guests. SoBe Restaurant and Lounge surpasses the ordinary in Prince George’s County through superior customer service and a distinguished and inspired menu. Located in the heart of Prince George’s County, they offer refined lunch and dinner menus featuring fresh seafood and a fusion of Latin, Asian, American, and Italian fare.
