Biloxi, MS — Five teens, ages 15 to 17, are facing charges of capital murder for allegedly killing 16-year old Madison Harris in her grandparent’s house in Missisissippi. The suspects, who Harris apparently considered as friends, were identified through the home’s Ring doorbell which recorded part of the incident.

17-year old Jarvis Cook, 17-year old Jaquez Porter, 17-year old Yakeshia Blackmon, 15-year old Willow Blackmon, and 15-year old Jasmine Kelley were reportedly seen entering and exiting the house in footage from the Ring doorbell.

James Waldeck, who also lives in the home and is Harris’ grandmother’s fiance, noticed something wrong was going on in the house when the Ring Doorbell app showed an ambulance at the home. He recalled that on that day, Smith was in the house with her friend Paul and her father.

When Waldeck checked the Ring camera, he saw four teens lunge at an unlocked door of the house. Within 10 seconds, several gunshots and screaming can be heard until the teens were seen running, being chased by Paul and Smith’s father.

Waldeck recognized some of the teens as Smith’s friends. He told WLOX, “They were in our house a number of different times, I thought as friends, yes. They just lived two or three houses down and across the street.”

Waldeck believes the killing is connected to a burglary that happened at the house 2 weeks ago. He thinks that the suspects were angry because “the police were called and we were pressing charges against that first crime” and they killed Harris because she knew about the earlier burglary.
