Black Women Finally Cashing In, Buying and Reselling Weaves

Nationwide — More ambitious African American women than ever before are finally finding their way as entrepreneurs in the multi-billion dollar human hair market. Many are buying wholesale high-quality wigs, weaves, and extensions from China and reselling them for a profit of up to 500%.

China has long been the largest manufacturer of hair in the world, and the internet has made doing business there extremely easy. In fact, most Black-owned beauty supply stores and other independent entrepreneurs selling their products on Ebay and Amazon are now getting their products from suppliers and manufacturers in China.

One popular company, Max (Xiamen) Industry And Trade Co., Ltd., based in Fujian, has partnered with the founders of BlackBusiness.com in search of existing and aspiring African American entrepreneurs who want to capitalize on this very lucrative market.

Like many other manufacturers in China, they sell what many consider to be the best-quality of tangle-free Brazilian hair weave bundles that women can dye and style as they see fit. Last year, Black women spent an estimated $2 billion dollars on these types of products online.

The wholesale prices and minimum orders required for the bundles are so low that an entrepreneur can get started for as low as $500 and easily start making profits of up to $2,500 a month or more. Not too shabby during a pandemic.
