Bodies of Six Women Found Dead in One Week, Serial Killer Suspected

Paige Fannon, Denise Leary, Michele Romano

Nationwide — Serial killer suspicions are growing online after six bodies were found across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island within five weeks. While police say the cases are unrelated, the timing and proximity have sparked public concern.According to People, the discoveries began on March 6, when the body of Paige Fannon, 35, was pulled from the Norwalk River in Connecticut. She’d been reported missing in New York a day earlier. Police found her belongings on the riverbank.

That same day, human remains were found in Plymouth, Massachusetts by a hunter. The partial skull was in a wooded area, and no details about the victim have been released.

On March 19, a body of a woman, aged 40 to 60, was found stuffed in a suitcase near a cemetery in Groton, Connecticut. Authorities said there’s no evidence linking this case to others, but haven’t ruled anything out.

A day later, on March 20, a body later identified as Denise Leary, 59, was discovered in New Haven, Connecticut. Leary, who was known to have suffered from paranoid schizophrenia, had been missing since September. Her remains were found in a wooded area near a home and were severely decomposed.

On March 26, Michele Romano, 56, was found dead in Foster, Rhode Island, eight months after she disappeared. Her body was discovered in a wooded area, and police are investigating “suspicious circumstances.”

Most recently, on April 9, human remains were recovered in Killingly, Connecticut. No information about the victim has been released.

Despite police saying there’s no confirmed connection between the cases, many people have taken to social media to discuss possible links. A Facebook group called “New England SK” has gained traction as more residents grow uneasy. Investigations are ongoing.
