Nationwide — Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura is asking a judge to block Diddy’s attempt to access her bank statements and an alleged unpublished book about him. She says his legal request is too broad and came too soon.According to TMZ, Diddy sent Cassie a subpoena on March 19. He asked for all drafts of any memoirs, journals, or personal notes involving him, along with any communications about plans to publish or discuss such a book. He also demanded her bank records.
Cassie has responded by asking the court to cancel the subpoena. She argues the request is overly broad and not appropriate at this point in the legal process.
This legal clash follows a claim from Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, who said Cassie once tried to sell Diddy the rights to her book for $30 million. He claims that in September, Cassie’s then-lawyer told Diddy’s team—on a recorded call—that she had written a book about their relationship and was planning to publish it unless he paid.
Diddy reportedly refused. By November 2023, Cassie had hired a new lawyer, who allegedly said the book was no longer relevant because a civil sexual assault case was about to be filed.
Cassie later sued Diddy for rape and abuse. They reached a settlement one day after the lawsuit was filed.
Now, Cassie wants the judge to reject Diddy’s subpoena, calling it excessive and unnecessary at this stage.
