Founder of Black Women in Clinical Research to Host Inaugural Conference in Durham, NC at the NC Biotech Center

Nationwide — Danielle Mitchell, Founder and President of Black Women In Clinical Research (BWICR), an organization dedicated to empowering and advancing Black women in the field of clinical research, has announced that it will host its first-ever conference in Durham, North Carolina at the NC Biotech Center on October 20-22, 2023.

The three-day event, themed “Meet the Challenge: Commit to Excellence,” will provide a platform for Black women in clinical research to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with industry experts, hear from keynote speakers, participate in workshops, and network with peers.

“We are thrilled to host our inaugural conference in Durham, NC, at the NC Biotech Center,” said Danielle. “This event is a critical step in advancing our mission to increase the representation of Black women in clinical research and to provide them with the tools and resources necessary to succeed in this field.”

The conference will cover a range of topics, including clinical trial design, ethical considerations in research, patient recruitment, data analysis, and more. The event is open to all individuals interested in clinical research, with a special focus on Black women.
