Nationwide — Floyd Mayweather Jr. is responding to ongoing rumors that he is facing financial struggles. The undefeated boxing champion said his recent fights and business moves are not signs of money problems, insisting that his finances remain strong.
During an appearance on the It Is What It Is podcast with Cam’ron, he addressed questions about why he continues to participate in exhibition bouts and expand his business ventures. He denied claims that financial issues are behind his recent activity.
He pointed to his properties, family support, and employees as proof that he remains financially stable. “Nobody has taken none of my properties away from me,” he said, adding that he still has his houses and assets.
According to Complex, the former five-division champion also credited his fans for supporting him throughout his career. He said people have continued to watch his fights because he has built a reputation for showing up and performing at a high level.
He also addressed the attention surrounding his lawsuits and public controversies. He said his fame often causes people to focus on him whenever problems arise, even when he is not directly responsible.
The boxing legend added that he stays away from much of the online conversation about him so he can focus on growing his businesses. “I ain’t got social media on my phone,” Mayweather said. “I’m too focused on building generational wealth.”
Mayweather ended the discussion by dismissing the rumors about his finances. “At the end of the day, I’m good,” he said.
