Towson, MD — Geronimo Pacer Harding Jr., a Maryland high school student accused of punching his teacher, is facing charges of first-degree felony assault and other charges. Harding, who just turned 18-years old earlier this month, was charged as an adult.
The teacher was reportedly sitting at that time when Harding approached him to discuss an incident that happened the other day. Officials said Harding suddenly became agitated and started punching his teacher in the face, knocking him to the ground.
The teacher said Harding threw about 6 to 8 punches on the teacher’s face and torso until he was able to push his thumb on Harding’s eye in self-defense.
The teacher initially declined medical treatment but was later on taken to the hospital to treat his serious facial wounds.
Meanwhile, Harding was also brought to the hospital before being taken into custody and charged with first- and second-degree assault, along with school-related charges.
Harding is now being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review. If convicted, he could be facing up to 25 years in prison.
