Jamie Foxx Was Just Joking About Diddy Being Involved in His Hospitalization

Diddy and Jamie Foxx

Nationwide — Jamie Foxx recently joked about rumors linking Sean “Diddy” Combs to his mysterious hospitalization last year, stirring up a mix of reactions from fans and industry insiders. During the taping of his upcoming Netflix special, What Had Happened Was, Foxx reportedly made humorous remarks that some audience members interpreted as serious, while others recognized them as playful jabs at longstanding rumors. TMZ reports that the comedian’s comments have since sparked a blend of speculation and intrigue about their real meaning.

Among the attendees was filmmaker Choke No Joke, who went to two of Foxx’s three shows at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta on Oct. 4, 5, and 6. In a YouTube interview with Comedy Hype on Oct. 7, Choke claimed Foxx alluded to Combs’ involvement, adding that he’d even called the FBI on him. However, Choke noted he wasn’t entirely certain if Foxx was being serious or merely setting up a punchline. “I know when somebody’s setting up a joke,” Choke said, though he admitted the remarks left him unsure.

Further reactions came from security guard Big Homie .CC, who alleged in an interview with Cam Capone News that Foxx claimed Combs had “poisoned” him, prompting the comedian to report the incident to authorities. Big Homie stated his knowledge came from attending two of Foxx’s shows with a client. However, without clear confirmation from Foxx or his representatives, these claims remain speculative.

In contrast, Dennis L.A. White, another attendee at the shows, dismissed the more dramatic claims, recalling that Foxx made light of the situation, saying, “If he [Combs] was responsible, I would’ve been dead.” White added that Foxx frequently poked fun at Combs throughout the performance, including jokes about “baby oil,” creating a lighthearted atmosphere that contrasted with the intense rumors swirling around.

Following the shows, Foxx posted on his Instagram page, reflecting on his recovery and thanking the people of Atlanta and Piedmont Hospital. He described the special as “an artistic explanation” of a challenging time, adding that the performances allowed him to share his story with humor and gratitude. Foxx’s emotional post included a photo of him on stage, visibly moved as he held the microphone.

Representatives for Combs, Foxx, and Netflix have yet to comment on whether these remarks will appear in the special, but Foxx’s Instagram post seems to suggest he is embracing humor and artistic expression as he revisits this recent chapter in his life.
