Church Daycare Worker Fired After Video Shows Her Throwing Toddler During Nap Time

Nationwide — Karon Corbin, a church day care worker from Spartanburg, South Carolina, was allegedly caught on video throwing a toddler to the floor during nap time. She has since been fired and is now facing a criminal charge.

On March 31, Corbin was seen on security footage from First Baptist Church Spartanburg picking up a three-year-old by the arm and tossing the child to the floor. Moments later, she appears to lift the child again and throw them face down onto a nap mat.

Authorities said the child did not sustain any injuries during the incident, according to WLBT.

After the day care director reviewed the footage, Corbin was fired and the incident was reported to the Department of Social Services (DSS). A criminal investigation followed, and Corbin was charged with unlawfully placing a child at risk of harm.
