Nationwide — Kaylynn Davidson, a 32-year-old mother from South Bend, Indiana, has been fatally shot just five days after the funeral of her 5-year-old son Kyler Nowlin Jackson. Her son was accidentally shot and killed by her 9-year old nephew.
Wright apparently pulled a handgun and fired multiple shots at Davidson, who was running away from the restaurant, court documents said, according to the South Bend Tribune. Wright was later charged with murder and manslaughter.
Davidson was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries. Her death comes just a few weeks after her son was accidentally shot to death by his cousin. Authorities did not elaborate on how Jackson was shot and how his cousin got their hands on the gun.
“You have the Davidson family now that’s doubly affected, that’s still reeling from a five-year-old being killed and now we have this on top of it all. I can’t even imagine or fathom what that family is going to have to contend with from here on out,” Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski told WSBT.
