School Counselor, Married With 3 Children, Arrested for Inappropriate Conduct With Students

Lesli Bryant

Nationwide — Lesli Bryant, a 37-year-old school counselor in Orange County, North Carolina, who is married with three children, was arrested after allegations involving inappropriate conduct with students. She now faces multiple criminal charges as the investigation continues.

Bryant has been charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a student and one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Court records indicate the alleged incidents happened while she was working at Orange High School.

Investigators say the case involves two students who were reportedly in contact with Bryant through Snapchat. According to the Daily Mail, the exchanges included explicit messages and the sharing of nude images and videos, with activity continuing as recently as April.

Concerns first surfaced within the school after staff received reports of possible misconduct involving students. School administrators then alerted a school resource officer, which triggered an investigation by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Bryant was placed on administrative leave before she resigned from her position on June 12, 2026. After warrants were issued for her arrest, she later surrendered at the magistrate’s office.

Following her arrest, Bryant appeared in court after being held at a detention center. She was released on a $50,000 bond, which was posted by her husband, Daniel. Court records show the family resides in Hillsborough, North Carolina.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Bryant was taken into custody after warrants were obtained as part of the investigation. Officials said the case remains active. The school district said it acted quickly after learning of the allegations and referred further questions to law enforcement.

Bryant is scheduled to return to court on July 20 as the case moves forward.
