
Nationwide — Mailson Araujo, a professional bodybuilder from Brazil, has sadly passed away at age 35 after collapsing at his home in Alagoinhas. His mother, a nursing technician, attempted to perform CPR on him before firefighters arrived, but all efforts to revive him failed.
Araujo’s death on Monday shocked fans and members of the fitness community who followed his bodybuilding journey. Just hours before he collapsed, he shared workout photos on Instagram, where he had gained more than 32,000 followers through his fitness content.
After Araujo collapsed, his mother immediately attempted CPR while waiting for help. Firefighters later arrived and continued life-saving measures, but they could not revive him, according to People.
The Brazilian athlete became a professional bodybuilder in 2023 after winning the Arnold Classic South America title in Sao Paulo. He was also preparing to compete in the Musclecontest event in Curitiba, Brazil, which was scheduled for July 17 to July 19.
Araujo had already made a mark in the bodybuilding world before his death. He placed third in the 2023 Muscleman competition and regularly shared training advice, nutrition tips, and updates about his fitness career with his followers.
In addition to bodybuilding, Araujo was a gospel singer and worked as a fitness consultant, helping clients with their health and training goals. His passion for fitness and faith earned him a loyal following online.
Professional bodybuilder Maiki Ono was among those who honored Araujo, writing that he would be “greatly missed.” Fans also remembered him for his dedication to fitness and the inspiration he shared online.
