Mantavius Presley

Nationwide — Mantavius Presley, an African American high school student who made headlines for earning over $1 million in scholarship offers, has chosen to attend Morehouse College, an HBCU in Atlanta, Georgia, after being accepted into 58 schools across the country.

Presley, a senior at Douglas County High School in Georgia, has a college list that included Howard, Mercer, Xavier of Louisiana, and the University of Alabama, but Morehouse stood out as his final choice, according to 11Alive.

Presley, who is known around campus as “LeBron,” isn’t just a top student. He serves as president of both the Future Business Leaders of America and the National Honor Society. He’s also vice president of the Student Government Association and the Class of 2025. On top of that, he helps manage the cheer teams, works on the yearbook, and is involved in seven other school groups. Outside school, Presley has logged over 1,100 hours of community service.

His mother, Chasity Green, shared her pride, saying, “I am so proud of my son.”

In a past interview, Presley thanked everyone who supported him, saying, “Thank you so much; your words of kindness mean so much to me.”

As graduation approaches, Presley is ready to begin his next chapter as a Morehouse Man.
