Nationwide — Marshun Colbert, a 26-year-old African American man from Memphis, Tennessee, is wanted for allegedly shooting a tow truck driver during a car repossession on June 8 in Horn Lake, Mississippi. The driver remains in critical but stable condition. According to WLBT, Horn Lake police responded to reports of gunfire around 4:45 p.m. at a parking lot on Interstate Boulevard. When officers arrived, they discovered that a tow truck driver from All Star Recovery had been shot while trying to repossess a vehicle.
Investigators say the shooting happened during a heated argument between Colbert and the driver. Colbert reportedly fired a single shot. Despite his injury, the driver tried to drive away, but the car he was towing fell from the truck. The car flipped onto its side in the parking lot.
A woman, who had entered the vehicle just before it fell, was taken to the hospital and later released in stable condition.
The injured driver drove himself to a hospital before being transferred to another facility for further treatment.
Police have issued a felony warrant for Colbert on aggravated assault charges. He is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Horn Lake Police Department or local law enforcement.
