Nationwide — Stephanie Lewis, and her two daughters, Stefani and Dasia, from Robbinsdale, Minnesota, are selling their personal items at a garage sale to help raise funds to send their older brother Tyi Lewis to Xavier University, a historically Black university in New Orleans.

“Our brother has to go to college in Louisiana and it’s real expensive,” Stefani told CBS News. “It’s more expensive than you think.”

With the help of their mother and grandmother, the sisters set up a garage sale and a lemonade stand to raise extra money to help support their brother’s dream college education. They have also set up a GoFundMe page.

Tyi, who recently graduated from Robbinsdale Cooper High School, has already been accepted at Xavier University and plans to study computer science. Tuition, however, is almost $50,000 per year.

Tyi said he is thankful for his little sisters’ sacrifices for him. He said, “It’s a good feeling to know that they care.”
