High School Counselor Creates Program for College-Bound Black and Brown Students

Rockell Bartoli

Nationwide — The Scholar Budget program, founded by former high school counselor Rockell Bartoli, is proud to announce that it will provide 15 college-bound, first-generation, low-income minority students with the essentials they need as they leave high school behind for their new college journey. To ensure each student’s specific needs are met, the program invites sponsors to participate in the Support A Senior Amazon Wish List Program, where they can purchase items directly from the student’s Amazon wish list.

The Scholar Budget Support A Senior Amazon Wish List program was initiated during the pandemic. This year we have chosen fifteen students from over 80 hard-working applicants. As a first-generation college graduate, Bartoli understands the importance of reaching the next rung on the educational ladder, as well as what a pivotal point graduating high school and moving on to college is in the lives of these students.

Bartoli expressed gratitude for the support that the program has received so far, saying, “This is our third year running this program, and we are always blown away and blessed by the community of people and strangers that go above and beyond to support these scholars.” You can support this year’s scholars at SupportaSenior.com

The Scholar Budget program is committed to providing students with the necessary tools and resources to ensure academic success. The program’s focus on first-generation, low-income minority students is critical to addressing the achievement gap and ensuring that these students have the support they need to succeed.

Along with the Support A Senior Amazon Wish List program, The Scholar Budget continues to help make college affordable for first-generation, low-income, and minority students by collaborating with schools and organizations such as TRIO and GEAR UP to facilitate workshops like The Scholarship Boot Camp, There’s More Than One Way to Pay for College and Becoming Financially Savvy.
