Grandma Missing For 5 Days Found Alive By Her Grandson Who Decided to Search One Last Time

Sandra Adams, grandmother found alive by grandson

Charlotte, NC — Sandra Adams, a 69-year old grandmother from North Carolina who was reported missing for five days, was found alive in the woods near her apartment complex. Her family almost lost hope but her grandson decided to search one last time and found her alive.

Adams’ family went to check on her last Friday morning, only to discover that she was missing. They knew that she likes to walk around her complex but they were worried because she was last seen two days ago. They began searching and reported the disappearance to the police.

They almost gave up searching, but on the fifth day, Adams’ grandson, Nate Cassel, and his friend Shawn Willis, decided to search one last time. They thought she might be somewhere just near her apartment.

“He wanted to go look in the woods. I woke up this morning with the same idea: Let’s go search the woods in the neighborhood,” Willis told WSOC-TV.

After hiking for about a quarter mile through the woods behind her apartment, Cassel and three of his friends found Adams lying face down in the creekbed. Cassel initially thought she wasn’t breathing anymore, so he called his family to call the police.

When police arrived, everyone was shocked when Adams suddenly raised her arm. She wasn’t able to talk much after being rescued but when she regained strength, she told police she fell while going on a walk. They have since ruled out the posibility of foul play involvement.

Meanwhile, Adams’ family was happy she was still alive.

“It’s a blessing. It’s a blessing, a big blessing,” Cassel said. “A miracle. She’s a strong lady.”
