17-Year Old Student Awarded $1M in Scholarships, Accepted to 10 Colleges

Tae'Von Gibbs, Black student offered $1 million in scholarships

Nationwide — Tae’Von Gibbs, a senior high school student from Louisville, Kentucky, has been accepted into 10 different colleges and has been offered more than $1 million in scholarships.

Gibbs, who currently attends Fern Creek High School, received partial scholarships from several colleges such as Centre College, Murray State, Bellarmine, and more.

He has also been awarded full rides from Wofford College, Berea College, and Hanover College, where he was one of the only 10 recipients of the Benjamin Templeton Scholarships which honors students with outstanding academic records and commitment to diversity education and social justice.

Gibbs is waiting to hear back from one more college before he could choose from the several colleges he would want to go to.
