Detroit, MI — The October issue of SPEAKERS Magazine is online and the printed copies will be distributed at the SpeakerCon event in Arlington, Virginia, Nov. 1-2 at the Crowne Plaza Crystal City. SpeakerCon is disrupting the speaking industry with this first of its kind convention.

Cheryl Wood, the creator of this mega convention, envisioned the event for years as an awards gala, accompanied by a full-day business development, inspiring keynotes, industry exhibition and high-level networking.

“This is the first year for SpeakerCon and it’s going to be two days. Day one is an entire day of business development conference, for professional speakers, women in media, and verbal communication experts including radio personalities, broadcasters, podcasters, commentators and activists to gain access to valuable industry resources, workshops, demos, service providers, products and industry experts. The convention is culminated by our signature awards gala in the evening where we spotlight and honor professional speakers and industry experts that support the growth and success of professional speakers,” said Wood.

Ten years ago, Cheryl Wood worked as a legal secretary with a dream of being an entrepreneur and professional speaker. Today, she is as an international motivational speaker and women’s empowerment coach committed to helping women globally to enhance their personal development and become economically empowered.

Her compelling story of fearlessly transitioning from a legal secretary to becoming a full-time entrepreneur operating a 6-figure speaking and coaching business inspires other women to breathe life into their possibilities.

She has shared her message of empowerment at The United Nations, the FBI, Small Business Administration, Verizon Wireless, National Association of Professional Women, and eWomenNetwork, to name a few.

“This event is really special to me because this is what I needed and wanted when I was just starting out in the industry. I envisioned one event where I saw people like me networking with legends in the speaking world, sharing advice, learning best practices, connecting with speaking industry vendors, showing support of each other’s businesses, providing inspiration to those starting out and giving honor those who typically you don’t see getting awards at a gala affair,” said Wood. SpeakerCon Platinum Sponsors include SPEAKERS Magazine, Black Speakers Network, Professional Speakers Concierge and Moore & Moore Merch.
