Trump Changes His Mind, Says He Doesn’t Believe He’s Going to Heaven After All

Trump now does not believe he is going to heaven

Nationwide — President Trump admitted he doesn’t believe he’s going to heaven, walking back his earlier statement about hoping his efforts to end the war in Ukraine might help him get there.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday, Trump was asked if the Ukraine ceasefire could improve his chances of reaching heaven. The question came from a journalist during a discussion about global conflicts and peace efforts.

“I mean, you know, I’m being. A little cute. I don’t think there’s anything going to get me in heaven. I think I’m not maybe heaven-bound,” Trump said, according to WLBT. “I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make heaven.”

Trump previously said he wanted to help stop the war in Ukraine, joking that such a move could help his chances of entering heaven. His latest comments, however, show a shift in tone about his faith and beliefs.

Despite doubting his place in heaven, Trump said he has “made life a lot better for a lot of people.”

Back in 2020, Trump told Religion News Service that he identifies as a “non-denominational Christian.” Before that, he had identified as Presbyterian.
