Nationwide — Sandy’s Land LLC, known for its mission to empower, entertain, and inspire with products and programming, proudly announces the 2026 Whimsical Black Doll & Art Show (Detroit Doll Show), an empowering celebration of history and culture. The highly anticipated event, recognized as the world’s largest Black doll show, will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Ford Wellness Center, 5555 Conner, Detroit, Michigan 48213. (Samaritan Center Campus)
The event promises a day filled with engaging activities, several workshops, and opportunities to explore the vibrant world of Black dolls, fashion, culture, and art. The legacy award will be presented to Mark Ruffin, Emmy Award-winning puppet builder, Cultural Dollmaker, and Founder of Black Dolls Matter. Also, there will be a performance by Smiley the Hip and Clown. “We are thrilled to bring the Black Doll & Art Show back for another year of celebrating Black excellence, culture, and self-love,” says Sandra Epps, Founder of Sandy’s Land LLC and the Detroit Doll Show. “This event serves as a platform for artists, doll makers, families, and enthusiasts to connect, inspire, and foster a strong sense of community while promoting the importance of representation and Black Culture.”

Fashion Show: Showcase local designers, children from Alnur Africandance Troupe, and attendees with the Best Mommy and Me runway walk to win a $100 cash prize. (children ages 3 to 10)
Author’s Corner: Connect with Black authors sharing stories and insights related to Black culture, history, and empowerment through positive representation.
Arts and Crafts: Unleash your creativity with hands-on arts and crafts activities suitable for all ages. Selfie-stations: Unique fun props to take photos in addition to the Detroit Doll Box.
