TapBlk brings community discovery, business visibility, real-world networking, and AI-powered relationship tools into one app — The Platform Built for Us. Empowered by Us.

Nationwide — Go Black Own, LLC today announced the relaunch of TapBlk, the first all-in-one social networking app designed to connect Black professionals, entrepreneurs, creators, Black-owned businesses, and the supporters looking to discover, hire, recommend, and support them. Refined alongside its earliest members, TapBlk expands beyond the traditional digital business card by bringing the entire relationship journey into one connected experience — from discovery and introduction to contact exchange, relationship management, and follow-up.
Based on the company’s research, TapBlk’s distinction as the first all-in-one social networking app of its kind comes from bringing the following full set of capabilities together in one place:
• TapIn — up to 60 seconds of video where members can tap in with the community and share what they’re building, offering, or seeking
• Unity groups — connecting business owners and supporters by state, industry, and shared interest
• TapBlk Connect — for instant in-person member-to-member exchange
• Public profiles — a personalized tapblk.com link that gives members one place to share who they are, what they do, and how to connect
• Business Profiles and discovery — separate from personal profiles, giving Black-owned businesses a dedicated presence where they can be found, recommended, saved and supported
• Hiring opportunities and service requests — allowing members to share openings, request services and find professionals directly within the community
• Direct and group messaging — helping confirmed connections continue conversations after the introduction
• Digital business cards for Apple and Google Wallet — with the ability to send push-notification messages and updates directly to people who have saved the card
• A full networking toolkit — including a paper business card scanner, QR generator, short links, email signatures and vCards
• Onyx and AI Notes — AI-powered tools that help members preserve relationship context, recall who they’ve met and draft personalized follow-up
• Events — for discovering and sharing gatherings that bring the community together online and in person
• A built-in lightweight CRM — to organize contacts, preserve meeting context, and manage relationships made through the app
• Private Insights — tracking profile activity, connections and growth without turning those numbers into public popularity metrics
What would normally require a handful of separate apps — one for video, one for community, one for digital identity, and another for follow-up, TapBlk brings together in one connected experience built around how our community actually connects. That same philosophy extends to how the experience is designed. TapBlk does not display public follower, view, or reaction counts. Members can “Show Love” on a post without a public tally attached, while still having private Insights to understand their own activity and growth.
“On most platforms, you’re renting attention,” said Kyle D. Amaker, Founder and CEO of Go Black Own and creator of TapBlk. “You get the views, the likes, the follows — and none of it turns into a real relationship. We wanted to build around what happens after the attention.”
Built Around Relationships, Not Attention
For Go Black Own, the opportunity is not simply to create another place to post. It is to bring together the places where Black communities gather and the tools that help those relationships grow — so discovering a business, meeting a professional, exchanging information, and following up do not have to be disconnected activities across separate services.
“Black entrepreneurs aren’t short on hustle. We’re short on access,” Amaker said. “The tools we’ve been handed — social media, generic networking apps — are built to farm attention, not build relationships. TapBlk isn’t interested in renting your attention. We’re interested in what happens after you meet someone.”
TapBlk is designed for both sides of that connection: the business owner or professional looking for opportunity, and the supporter looking for people and businesses to hire, recommend and support. Members do not need to own a business to participate. Finding a local service, sharing an opening, attending an event or introducing two people who should know each other all contribute to the community.
That is the cultural purpose behind the product: an experience where Black businesses, professionals, creators and supporters are the starting point — not a niche audience within someone else’s broader offering. TapBlk is not only designed around the needs of Black professionals, businesses and supporters. It is built, owned and operated by a Black-owned technology company.
The Platform Built for Us. Empowered by Us.
TapBlk has been self-funded from day one, without outside investors. Its evolution reflects the broader mission of Go Black Own: expanding access to technology, relationships and opportunity while creating infrastructure designed with Black businesses and professionals in mind from the beginning.
Amaker is also the author of AI for Black-Owned Businesses: From Hustle Mode to AI-Powered Systems. His earlier work through Go Black Own was featured on the technology segment of Roland Martin Unfiltered, where the app was showcased for connecting consumers with Black-owned businessess. “The Platform Built for Us means our community is considered from the beginning, not added later as an afterthought,” he said.
“Empowered by Us means the people using TapBlk help determine its value; every connection made, business recommended, opportunity shared, and introduction created makes the community stronger.””This is bigger than an app,” he added. “It’s about giving our community a place where finding each other is only the beginning. The real value is what those relationships can become.”
TapBlk is available now on the App Store and Google Play.
