Nationwide — Broderick “Hollywood” Jackson, the Founder and CEO of Hollywood Drag Racing Productions, a prominent entity in the motorsport industry, has made history by creating the first-ever motorsports trophy in the image of a Black man. As the owner of his very own motorcycle drag racing series and now the creator of a championship trophy that pays tribute to African Americans, Broderick is completely redefining the motorsports industry which once reflected very little diversity.
The Hollywood trophy stands as a testament to diversity and progress, featuring the image of Jackson himself holding a camera. The idea for this emblematic trophy was born out of collaboration and creativity within Jackson’s team, with Pinky Bowers playing a pivotal role in bringing the concept to life.
Through meticulous design and craftsmanship by Online Resources Group for 3D scan and file creation, The Paint Shop, Neomek for the molds and casting, and Olde Town Awards for the final assembly. With the help of all involved the first Motorsport trophy to depict a Black person has now come to fruition.
This historic unveiling will take place on April 6 at the MTC Engineering Spring Nationals at South Georgia Motorsport Park in Adel, Georgia, at approximately 11 AM. As the motorsport community gathers for this momentous occasion, ten class champions will be presented with the “Hollywood” trophy, marking a significant step forward in the quest for inclusivity and equality in the racing world.
