Black Jeweler Inspires Young Minds Through STEM, Storytelling, and Earth Science

Daniel Moijueh with students

Nationwide — Daniel Moijueh, a jeweler and the owner of Moijéy Fine Jewelry and Diamonds, a Black-owned company based in the Washington, DC area, recently hosted a vibrant “Diamonds, Arts, and Rocks” Pop-Up event designed to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of learners. The brand engaged with families to share information about its STEM-focused educational programs and donated original children’s books celebrating the beauty and significance of gemstones and earth science. Across two local community gatherings, nearly 200 children were empowered with messages of cultural pride, environmental awareness, and a passion for discovery. On April 12 at the Glenarden Community Center and again on April 19 at Fort Meade, Moijéy Fine Jewelry and Diamonds participated in community-led events in partnership with Mayor Cashenna A. Cross and Lambda Gamma Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. During these events, the brand gifted educational books authored by Mr. Moijueh. The books, which tell the story of a father and daughter exploring a natural history museum, encouraged children to see the world through a lens of wonder, learning, and appreciation for Earth’s natural treasures.

In addition to the books, children enjoyed interactive games and received crystal giveaways, which served as hands-on learning tools to deepen their understanding of minerals and geology.
“We’re investing in the future of our planet and our communities through storytelling, science, and service,” said Daniel Moijueh, founder of Moijéy Fine Jewelry and Diamonds.

These educational resources align with the mission of Mine to Finger CAD Academy, an established diamond manufacturing program returning this fall. The immersive course, which explores the precision and technicality behind diamond cutting, emphasizes sustainable practices in jewelry design for those wanting to be aspiring jewelers and also for professionals hoping to deepen their practice. In partnership with the American Institute of Diamond Cutting, Moijéy Fine Jewelry and Diamonds blends education and cultural creativity to expand through innovative initiatives and meaningful collaboration.
