Meet the Black Woman Strategist Advancing Advocacy for Black Families, Disability Rights, and Community Impact

Dr. Issata Oluwadare

Nationwide — Dr. Issata Oluwadare, speaker, strategist, professor, author, and community advocate, has recently completed the New Jersey Partners in Policymaking program, marking a meaningful new chapter in her ongoing commitment to disability advocacy, educational equity, leadership development, and community transformation.

For Oluwadare, the milestone is both professional and deeply personal. As a mother, sister, educator, and advocate, her work has long been shaped by the lived realities of families navigating disability systems, school systems, health care barriers, and public policy gaps. Through her family’s experiences advocating for her son Emmanuel, who has complex medical and developmental needs, and for her brother, who has needed sustained disability support, Oluwadare has become a strong voice for families who often feel overwhelmed, isolated, or unheard.

“Partners in Policymaking helped me put language, structure, and strategy around what my family has lived for years,” said Dr. Oluwadare. “I entered this program with a mother’s heart, a sister’s memory, and a leader’s burden. I am leaving with deeper tools to advocate for families, strengthen systems, and help communities understand that disability rights are civil rights.”

The Partners in Policymaking experience adds to a season of significant growth and public impact for Oluwadare. Through Issata O. Inc., The EZ Breezy Life, Manny’s Village, her teaching, her leadership in college access, and her broader advocacy work, she continues to serve at the intersection of education, leadership, disability justice, faith, family resilience, and community care.

Oluwadare brings 20 years of leadership experience across private, nonprofit, and higher education spaces. She has delivered more than 60 invited presentations and has reached audiences across the United States and globally. Her work has impacted professionals across more than 80 higher education institutions and over 7,000 participants. Through The EZ Breezy Life, she leads a global community of women spanning more than 50 countries. Her public reach extends across 35 states and more than 200 U.S. cities.

A five-time number one bestselling author, professor, certified life coach, consultant, and speaker, Oluwadare is known for helping leaders and organizations build healthier cultures, navigate change, develop resilient teams, and lead with clarity, courage, and care. Her consulting and speaking work focuses on leadership development, organizational change, strategic planning, women’s leadership, identity-based leadership, disability advocacy, and sustainable success.

Her children’s book, Mighty Manny, inspired by her family’s journey, debuted as an Amazon number one new release, reached the top-ten bestsellers list, and has been featured by more than 500 news outlets, including Yahoo News, ABC News, BlackNews.com, Fox, and CBS. Through Manny’s Village, Oluwadare and her family continue to support organizations that serve children, families, and communities with compassion and practical care.

Oluwadare has also been recognized with several honors, including the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, Marquis Who’s Who recognition, Brainz 500 Global Honoree recognition, and induction into the National Society of Leadership and Success. Her education and professional development have included Capella University, Yale School of Management, Northwestern University, and Rutgers University.

Her recent New Jersey Partners in Policymaking graduation strengthens her commitment to helping families understand their rights, access needed resources, and participate more fully in systems that shape their lives. It also deepens the message she brings to conferences, institutions, associations, churches, nonprofits, women’s leadership spaces, and civic organizations.

“This next season is about bringing every part of my work together,” said Oluwadare. “I want to help leaders build systems that do not require families to break down before they are heard. I want to help organizations understand the human cost of broken processes. I want Black families, mothers, caregivers, students, and leaders to know that their stories belong in policy rooms, boardrooms, classrooms, and public conversations.”

Oluwadare is currently available for speaking engagements, keynotes, panels, trainings, and workshops on leadership, resilience, disability advocacy, educational equity, organizational change, women’s leadership, and building systems of care for families and communities.
